Is my credit card information safe when using Stripe during checkout?

Over 100,000 businesses in 25 countries use Stripe. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. When using Stripe Checkout, sensitive credit card information is sent directly to Stripe and does not touch (and is not stored on)’s SSL verified and secure GoDaddy hosted servers or databases.

  • Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL)
  • All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256
  • Stripe has two PGP keys to encrypt communications
  • Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure
